Centro, Treo 755p, Treo 750, Treo 700p, Treo 680, Treo 650; Palm z22, TX; and Tungsten E2:

Palm Desktop by ACCESS 6.2
This software includes a Windows Vista compatible Install Tool, which allows you to sync .prc and .pdb files (Palm OS applications and databases) to your device.

All other Palm devices:

Palm Desktop by ACCESS 6.2 is not recommended for devices not listed above. However, you can install a previous version of Palm Desktop, which will sync Calendar, Contacts, Tasks and Memos, but has limited functionality in other areas.

Note: You will not be able to install Palm applications (.prc and .pdb) through other versions of Palm Desktop. However, you can transfer these files to your device using other methods: learn more.

Known Incompatibilities: Palm Desktop 4.1.4 and Windows Vista

  • Chapura PocketMirror, the third-party software that lets some Palm devices sync with Outlook, may require an update from its developer. More info.
  • LifeDrive Manager (for LifeDrive) and File Transfer (for Tungsten T5), the desktop applications that simplify file synchronization between your handheld and PC, are currently not compatible with Windows Vista. Please check back for updates. More info.
  • Third-party desktop applications, including those found on your Palm Software Installation CD (such as carrier-branded Dial-up Networking - DUN - desktop software and other applications), may not be compatible with Windows Vista. Please check back for updates, or visit the third-party application website for more information.
  • Help files (.hlp files) found in some versions of Palm Desktop software may not be supported in Windows Vista. Instead, please reference your user guide or visit the support page for your product.

Outlook 2007 compatibility with Windows Vista
(for all Palm OS devices including Treo 755p, 700p, 680; Tungsten and Zire handhelds; and LifeDrive mobile managers)

If you use Microsoft Office Outlook 2007, this update lets you perform HotSync operations with Outlook's Calendar, Contacts, Tasks and Notes.

Chapura PocketMirror note: Some Palm devices use this third-party software to sync with Outlook, instead of Palm Outlook Conduits. If you use PocketMirror, you may need to install an update: info.

Palm Windows Mobile smartphone compatibility with Windows Vista
(for Windows Mobile devices including Treo 800w, Treo 700w, Treo 700wx, Treo 750v and Treo 750)

Windows Vista introduces a new method for device synchronization called Windows Mobile Device Center (WMDC).

NOTE: With this new method you are no longer required to install your Getting Started Disc.

Microsoft ActiveSync is not compatible with Windows Vista. However you can still run the Getting Started Disc if you want the User Guide or Bonus Applications.
